The Oregon PAVE Fundraising
We’ve filled it once!
Let’s do it again!!
Alex, Kim and Troy’s Story
Pave was founded by Dr. Michelle Nelson in 2010 with the goal of placing assistance dogs with veterans. She is a professional dog trainer specialized in service dog training. After extensive research and education specifically in the fields of assistance dogs, PTSD, and nonprofits, including intensive service dog training at Bergin University of Canine Studies, Pave’s bylaws were adopted by the board of directors on November 14, 2011. Pave filed the articles of incorporation with the State of Oregon November 3, 2011 and was granted 501(c)(3) status by the IRS January 19, 2012.
Pave service dogs are placed free of charge with veterans. We depend on donations and volunteers to support our mission. Pave service dogs are trained for veterans with mental and/or physical disabilities. There is a great need for service dogs for veterans and the demand is larger than the supply. It is estimated that 22 veterans commit suicide daily. Assistance dogs have been shown to have a very positive influence on the mental and physical state of veterans.
Pave does not train or certify dogs outside of our program.
If you would like to donate to Pave.
